Amanda Lennon discusses how to ask for a pay rise with Daily Mirror
International Women’s Day has again shone a light on the issue of the gender pay gap, and an article in the Daily Mirror discusses what employees should do if they find out they are being paid less than colleagues doing the same job.
Our employment partner Amanda Lennon, who is also Spencer West’s Director of HR & Wellbeing shared her thoughts on how employees should raise the issue of pay with their boss, emphasising that it is important to be prepared:
“I always recommend that people should keep their CVs up to date and keep a document with a list of their achievements, such as feedback and examples of where you have gone above and beyond.”
Amanda concludes: “This will help you feel confident and avoid ‘imposter syndrome’. Really believe in yourself and the salary you deserve.”
