People Management features Fudia Smartt comments on banning alcohol at work events
HR experts and employment lawyers contributed their thoughts to a People Magazine article about the recent warning from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) that businesses should reduce the amount of alcohol served at workplace social events in order to prevent incidents of inappropriate behaviour.
The warning followed a CMI poll of managers which indicated that alcohol had played a part in harassment and innappropriate behaviour at workplace parties.
Commenting on the matter, our Employment Partner Fudia Smartt said: “Employers need to be proactive in taking as many preventative measures as possible to reduce the incidents of poor workplace behaviours including bullying, harassment and discrimination.”
