UK developer Equitas PLC engages Spencer West Pakistan to provide legal advice for Bahria Town Karachi Project
UK based property developer Equitas PLC has appointed Spencer West LLP and Spencer West Pakistan as the sole legal representatives for their development within Bahria Town Karachi.
Bahria Town Karachi is a privately owned gated suburb just off the M-9 Motorway northeast of Karachi, Pakistan. The suburb is being developed by the Bahria Town Group, and occupies over 46,000 acres (72 sq mi; 19,000 ha). Construction started in 2014 and will continue until the project has been completed.
The community includes the Grand Jamia Mosque, the world’s third-largest mosque, and the Rafi Cricket Stadium, the country’s largest, designed by GMW Architects. The community will be energy independent with a coal-fired and an LNG-powered electricity generation plant, in partnership with K-Electric. It is also home to a 36-hole United States Golf Association standard golf course.
Equitas is constructing a luxury development consisting of approximately 360 units in a prime location within walking distance of the new Rafi Stadium and Sports Complex.
Ishtiaq Nawaz-Chechi, Founding Partner at Spencer West Pakistan, said: “This is an exciting development bringing new services and homes to the Barhrai Town suburb and we’re delighted to be supporting Equitas as they continue to develop the project. We will be there to advise on any issues that arise and to ensure the development can proceed as planned to completion.”
