Howard specialises in corporate and commercial work for SMEs across a range of sectors. His forte is effective transaction management – a “no-nonsense” entrepreneurial approach to getting the deal done for the client. Howard has particular interests in organisational governance and between 1983 and 2012 was, successively, Group Company Secretary (part-time) of three UK businesses listed on the London Stock Exchange and currently holds a similar position with a substantial privately-owned group.
Howard was admitted a solicitor in 1967 (the youngest in the year); and remained as a partner at his previous firm from 1969 until he moved to join Spencer West. He holds an MBA with distinction.
In his spare time Howard is a trustee of and honorary adviser to an educational charity and was for many years a foundation governor of a voluntary aided JMI. He is also a very active supporter of the Motor Neurone Disease Association, regularly promoting the charity through events and fundraising.
