Right to work checks in the not-so-remote future

The Government has published several new policy documents on conducting right to work checks after the post-Brexit transition period ends on 30 June 2021. Immigration and Global Mobility Partner Samar Shams has updated her recent HRZone blog to discuss:

    • What an employer should do if an EEA national employee has not applied for the EU Settlement Scheme;
    • Extension of the COVID-19 remote checking concession to 31 August 2021; and
    • The right to work of EEA nationals who have applied for the EU Settlement Scheme from overseas.

Samar considers the practical consequences for employers of the new right to work checking regime.
